Is Schurrle Really The Man Required At Stamford Bridge?

With all the talent currently on display within the Bundesliga it is not a big surprise that some of Europe’s most powerful clubs are wanting to get in on the act.  And all signs are pointing that Chelsea will sign the young German Andre Schurrle, but is he really needed?

There is no doubting Schurrle’s talent, but given what we have seen from Chelsea this season you would have to ask is this move really logical for the blues?

The season has been a long and hard one for Chelsea and their supporters, the club have continued to slip downhill since there dominance with Jose Mourinho. But with the special one returning, things may be on the up rise.

But for all of Chelsea’s woes, an interim manager and the club unable to find a goal scoring striker have been some of the biggest problems. However there is some light in the tunnel.

The rise of Oscar, Hazard and Juan Mata as integral players at Stamford Bridges with emerging such as Piazon means Chelsea have many exciting options in the attacking half of the pitch.

Schurrle plays in a similar way to this trio and it is difficult to see why bringing him into the club would benefit Chelsea if it meant breaking up the magnificent combination of Mata, Hazard and Oscar.

The additions Chelsea require are seemingly obvious, a striker to the ease the burden on Fernando Torres and Demba Ba as the pair have hardly been scoring goals for fun, particularly Torres. Also I feel a holding midfielder would be beneficial for Chelsea.

Bringing in Schurrle for Chelsea, would prove otherwise, he is an incredibly talented player.  Though he is a player who works his magic outside the box creating chances for his fellow teammates. Something Chelsea already have a lot of, he isn’t the goal scoring player the club so desperately need. Schurrle would only bring what they look to be heavy in already.

Schurrle’s arrival in West London would only raise more questions rather than answer them.

Let me know your opinion, is Schurrle the man for Chelsea?
